O presente Trabalho de Investigação Individual pretende propôr medidas para a gestão do inventário de munições do Exército Português que possam melhorar a sua Cadeia de Abastecimento. O objeto de estudo é a Cadeia de Abastecimento do Exército Português, delimitado ao estudo da gestão do inventário de Munições, Explosivos e Artifícios de Fogo. A metodologia seguida assentou num raciocínio indutivo através de uma investigação qualitativa consubstanciada num desenho de pesquisa de estudo de caso.
Através da análise à flexibilidade, fiabilidade e economia observadas na gestão do inventário de Munições, Explosivos e Artifícios de Fogos do Exército Português foi possível identificar as principais lacunas na aplicação destes conceitos logísticos.
Nas conclusões do estudo são propostas um conjunto de melhorias à gestão do inventário de Munições, Explosivos e Artifícios de Fogo do Exército Português, que poderão resultar num incremento da capacidade da Cadeia de Abastecimento em fornecer aos seus clientes, os militares, a munição certa, na quantidade certa, no momento certo e ao mínimo custo.
This study intends to propose measures for the management of the inventory of ammunition of the Portuguese Army that can improve its Supply Chain. The object of study is the Supply Chain of the Portuguese Army, delimited to the study of the management of the inventory of Munitions, Explosives and Pyrotechnic devices. The methodology followed was based on an inductive reasoning through a qualitative research based on a case study research design. Through the analysis of the flexibility, reliability and economy observed in the management of the inventory of Ammunition, Explosives and Pyrotechnic devices of the Portuguese Army, it was possible to identify the main gaps in the application of these logistic concepts. In the conclusions of the study a set of improvements to the management of the inventory of Ammunition, Explosives and Pyrotechnic devices of the Portuguese Army are proposed, which could result in an increase of the Supply Chain's ability to provide its customers, the soldiers, the right ammunition, in the right quantity, at the right time, and at the lowest cost
