Abstract(s)
When we look back at the history of dentistry, pain has always been omnipresent due to the absence of pharmacological products that today are well known and even indispensable. We can no longer imagine extracting a tooth without using one of the different anesthesia techniques. The objective of this thesis is to explain and deepen in this field that is anesthesia but mainly anestesia that is in our field of competence and what we will use the most. First of all, we will recall the history of anesthesia which is a relatively recent event in our history, then we will define and explain the different mechanisms of the pain. The anatomical knowledge of the cervico-facial region is a prerequisite for a good command of this tool that is anestesia, and that is why in this second part we will perform some anatomical reminders. We have several tools at our disposal to use this anestesia, so in this part we will detail the various possible anestesia techniques. In this fourth part we will put in context the different types of anestesia to know when and how to use them, as well as the reasons for some possible failures. The fifth part will focus on understanding the different analgesic products which are complex products as in their compositions as in their ranges of use. We will aim to collect information through articles that we can find in different platforms such as pubmed, cochrane or google scholar. But we will also collect other information in more traditional media such as books or scientific journals. This data collection will allow us to synthesize the necessary knowledge and apply it in this sixth and last part will consist of the elaboration of a simple and entertaining booklet summarizing everything that will be explained in this thesis with all the essential information that I could extract from the bibliography. So that a student starting the clinic can use it and perform these first anestesia, having all the sufficient theoretical knowledge, making reminders about biochemistry, anatomy or physiology to be able to perform this act that is the anestesia of a nerve or a group of nerves in the cervico-facial area.
