Os desafios para a Estratégia Global da União Europeia numa perspetiva de segurança e defesa

| dc.description.abstract | Os desafios para a Estratégia Global da União Europeia (EGUE) numa perspetiva de segurança e defesa é sem dúvida um tema atual e pertinente. Por forma a desenvolver o tema proposto associa-se a palavra desafios aos níveis de ambição da EGUE e define-se como objeto da investigação a contribuição das missões da Política Comum de Segurança e Defesa (PCSD) na resolução dos desafios para a EGUE, delimitando o estudo à missão da PCSD: EUNAVFOR MED - Operação Sophia. Este trabalho segue um raciocínio indutivo, uma estratégia qualitativa e um desenho de pesquisa estudo de caso, num horizonte temporal transversal. Simplificando, olhando para os dados disponíveis relativos à EUNAVFOR MED, perceber e explicar de que forma esta missão concorre para os níveis de ambição da EGUE, extrapolando depois os resultados obtidos para as restantes missões PCSD. Como corolário deste estudo é possível assumir-se que as missões civis ou operações militares da Política Comum de Segurança e Defesa, fora das fronteiras da União Europeia (UE), podem, de facto, contribuir para os níveis de ambição da Estratégia Global da União Europeia, encontrando-se estes intimamente ligados na procura da defesa da UE e da segurança dos seus cidadãos. Abstract: The challenges for the European Union's Global Strategy (EUGS) from a security and defense perspective is undoubtedly a current and relevant issue. In order to develop the proposed theme, the word challenges are associated to the EUGS ambition levels, and the contribution of the Common Security and Defense Policy (CSDP) missions addressing the challenges of the EUGS is defined as the object of research. Restricting the study to the CSDP mission: EUNAVFOR MED - Operation Sophia. This work follows an inductive reasoning, a qualitative strategy and a research design case study, within a transverse temporal horizon. Put simply, looking at the available data on EUNAVFOR MED, realize and explain how this mission contributes to EUGS ambition levels, then extrapolates the results obtained for the remaining CSDP missions. As a corollary of this study, it can be assumed that civilian missions or military operations of the Common Security and Defense Policy outside the borders of the European Union (EU) can indeed contribute to the ambition levels of the EU's Global Strategy and these are closely linked in the pursuit of the defense of the EU and the security of its citizens. | pt_PT |
