Os edifícios inteligentes incorporam tecnologias avançadas através de Sistemas de Gestão de Edifícios e de Energia (SGEE) para garantir uma operação mais eficiente. Nestes sistemas, os registos de auditoria desempenham um papel fundamental para garantir a integridade dos dados e a segurança, bem como conformidade com normas regulamentares, tais como a FDA 21 CFR Part 11. Desenvolvido no âmbito do estágio curricular do mestrado, este trabalho foca-se na reestruturação do serviço de auditoria legado do sistema Sauter Vision Center, um SGEE desenvolvido pela Critical Software em parceria com a Sauter. O projeto teve origem na necessidade de resolver uma dívida técnica existente, mais concretamente o forte acoplamento entre a lógica de negócio e a de auditoria. Um segundo objetivo pretendeu completar a informação existente em registos entretanto realizados. Após uma análise do estado da arte, das normas relacionadas, do código do projeto, e das soluções para desafios semelhantes, foi desenhada, para dar resposta ao primeiro objetivo, uma solução que inclui um intercetor personalizado e a biblioteca EF Plus. A aplicação dos princípios SOLID em conjunto com os padrões de design Factory e Strategy resultaram numa separação de responsabilidades rigorosa. Esta solução garante que os registos de auditoria são criados de forma automática, sem interferir com a lógica de negócio, promovendo uma manutenção mais eficiente do projeto. Para cumprir o segundo objetivo, foi desenvolvida uma solução de preenchimento para popular dados em falta nos registos históricos. Implementada como uma tarefa de manutenção, esta solução melhora a completude dos dados e assegura a uniformidade entre os novos e os antigos registos. Em suma, as soluções implementadas antigiram os seus objetivos e estabeleceram uma base sólida para futuras melhorias de segurança e alinhamento com normas internacionais, incluindo a ISO 27001 e o NIST SP 800-53.
Smart buildings rely on Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS) to integrate advanced technologies for efficient operation. Within this architecture, audit trails play a key role in ensuring data integrity, security, and adherence to regulatory standards such as FDA21 CFR Part 11. Developed within the context of a master’s internship, this work focuses on refactoring the legacy audit trail service of the Sauter Vision Center system, a BEMS developed by Critical Software in partnership with Sauter. The work was motivated by the need to solve technical debt, specifically the tight coupling of business and audit software logic. A second objective was to rectify data gaps found in legacy audit records. Following an analysis of the state of the art, related standards, project code, and solutions to similar challenges, a solution was designed to address the first objective. This solution includes a custom interceptor and the EF Plus library. By applying SOLID principles alongside the Factory and Strategy design patterns, the refactored service achieves strict separation of concerns. This ensures that audit entries are implicitly recorded without cluttering the business logic, directly addressing the project’s maintainability goals. To fulfill the second objective, a backfilling solutionwas developed to populate missing identifiers within legacy audit records. Implemented as a maintenance task, this solution improves data completeness and ensures uniformity between historical and new audit entries. Ultimately, the implemented solutions successfully satisfy the functional requirements and establish a robust foundation for future security enhancements and alignment with international standards, including ISO 27001 and NIST SP 800-53.
