| dc.description.abstract | This thesis explores the creation of Cinecore, an experimental digital community dedicated to independent filmmakers and audiovisual creatives in Lisbon, Portugal. Starting from the theoretical concepts of network society, virtual communities, and digital platforms, the research analyses the conditions that make digital communities effective for creative collaboration and knowledge exchange. The study stems from the observation that the Portuguese audiovisual market is small difficult to access compared to many other European markets, elements that may disadvantage young professionals and creatives developing indie projects, seeking to enter the sector. The thesis therefore investigates the extent to which a purpose-oriented virtual community can fill these gaps, becoming a space for observing needs, supporting emerging careers, and promoting the Portuguese indie scene. To collect the necessary data, a mixed approach is adopted that combines a quantitative questionnaire to map the habits, needs, and difficulties of audiovisual professionals; semi-structured interviews to delve into individual challenges and experiences; and the creation of a WhatsApp group which serves as Proof of Concept to test the idea of an audiovisual community that supports connections, collaborations and events, to directly observe interaction dynamics. The research contributes both to theoretical reflection on digital communities and social media networks and to the practical experimentation with networking models within the Portuguese audiovisual context. | eng |
| dc.description.abstract | Esta tese explora a criação do Cinecore, uma comunidade digital experimental dedicada a cineastas independentes e criativos audiovisuais em Lisboa, Portugal. Partindo dos conceitos teóricos de sociedade em rede, comunidades virtuais e plataformas digitais, a investigação analisa as condições que tornam as comunidades digitais eficazes para a colaboração criativa e a troca de conhecimentos. O estudo parte da observação de que o mercado audiovisual português é pequeno e de difícil acesso em comparação com muitos outros mercados europeus, elementos que podem prejudicar jovens profissionais e criativos que desenvolvem projetos independentes e procuram entrar no setor. A tese investiga, portanto, em que medida uma comunidade virtual orientada para um objetivo específico pode preencher essas lacunas, tornando-se um espaço para observar necessidades, apoiar carreiras emergentes e promover a cena independente portuguesa. Para recolher os dados necessários, é adotada uma abordagem mista que combina um questionário quantitativo para mapear os hábitos, necessidades e dificuldades dos profissionais audiovisuais; entrevistas semiestruturadas para aprofundar os desafios e experiências individuais; e a criação de um grupo no WhatsApp que serve como Prova de Conceito para testar a ideia de uma comunidade audiovisual que apoia conexões, colaborações e eventos, para observar diretamente a dinâmica de interação. A investigação contribui tanto para a reflexão teórica sobre comunidades digitais e redes sociais como para a experimentação prática com a rede. | por |
