O presente relatório pretende retratar o percurso realizado ao longo dos estágios desenvolvidos no âmbito do Curso de Mestrado em Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgico na área da pessoa em situação perioperatória, promovendo a reflexão crítica da prática e a análise das competências comuns e específicas do enfermeiro especialista adquiras e trabalhadas ao longo deste curso.
A temática deste Relatório é consequência de uma oportunidade de melhoria encontrada na Unidade Local de Saúde onde os estágios tiveram lugar, que encontra a sua pertinência em matéria de segurança da pessoa alvo de cuidados, nomeadamente em matéria de controlo de infeção.
A hipotermia perioperatória inadvertida é o evento adverso mais comum em contexto perioperatório, tendo associadas múltiplas complicações, das quais se destaca o aumento considerável do risco de infeção do local cirúrgico, uma tipologia de infeção associada aos cuidados de saúde com uma taxa de incidência importante a nível mundial. Para melhor compreender a relação entre estes dois fatores, a hipotermia perioperatória e o
risco de infeção do local cirúrgico, foi desenvolvido também uma revisão sistemática de etiologia e risco.
O desenvolvimento de conhecimento científico e a sua partilha permitiu em contexto de estágio desenvolver competências comuns do enfermeiro especialista, mas também competências específicas do enfermeiro especialista em enfermagem médico-cirúrgica na área da pessoa em situação perioperatória em matéria de melhoria contínua da qualidade e sobre tudo e de na maximização da segurança congruente com a consciência cirúrgica.
This report aims to describe the progress made during the internships carried out as part of the Master9s Degree in Medical-Surgical Nursing in Perioperative Nursing Care, promoting critical reflection on practice and analysis of the common and specific skills of specialist nurses acquired and developed throughout this course. The theme of this report is the result of an opportunity for improvement found in the Local Health Unit where the internships took place, which is relevant to the safety of the person receiving care, particularly in terms of infection control. Inadvertent perioperative hypothermia is the most common adverse event in the perioperative context, with multiple associated complications, of which a considerable increase in the risk of surgical site infection, a type of healthcare-associated infection with a significant incidence rate worldwide. To better understand the relationship between these two factors, perioperative hypothermia and the risk of surgical site infection, a systematic review of etiology and risk was also conducted. The development and sharing of scientific knowledge have enabled the development of common skills for specialist nurses in the context of internships, but also specific skills for specialist nurses in Medical-Surgical Nursing in Perioperative Nursing Care in terms of continuous quality improvement and, above all, maximising safety in line with surgical awareness.
