Abstract(s)
A inserção da mulher na Força Aérea Portuguesa (FAP) vem gerar um conjunto de
novos desafios que, neste trabalho de investigação, estão relacionados com a constituição
de família entre militares.
Desta forma, foram identificadas as preocupações ligadas à condição feminina
analisando de que forma a sua situação familiar influencia o seu desempenho e as opções
de carreira. Para tal, é apresentada uma evolução histórica onde são abordadas as várias
alterações na sociedade portuguesa que permitiram a vinda da mulher para a Organização.
Feito esse enquadramento, são enunciados os problemas relacionados com a
caracterização da mulher militar perante a família, a maternidade e a compatibilização
entre a vida familiar e a Organização Militar.
Dentro dessa linha de acção, pretendeu-se analisar as relações de autoridade,
subordinação e disciplina, de acordo com os requisitos acima definidos.
Para atingir essa intenção recorreu-se ao método de investigação em Ciências
Sociais proposto pelo Instituto de Ensino Superior Militar (IESM). Este método inicia-se
com uma pergunta de partida, estando associadas outras, que dela derivam, procurando-se
dar as respostas através da formulação de hipóteses.
Na pesquisa do objecto foram utilizados, fundamentalmente, inquéritos por
questionário, a todas as mulheres que desempenham funções/tarefas na FAP e que estão
casadas/vivendo em união de facto (C/UF) com militares. Essa pesquisa foi
complementada com a consulta a documentos e estudos já desenvolvidos e a entrevistas
efectuadas.
Este trabalho de investigação permitiu identificar a existência de situações que
devem ser acauteladas, nomeadamente não colocar um dos membros do “casal militar” na
dependência de comando directa do outro, salvaguardando assim as relações de autoridade
e subordinação.
Como ilação mais importante a retirar deste trabalho é que devem ser criadas
normas reguladoras que estabeleçam o relacionamento não profissional entre militares. Abstract: The integration of women in the Portuguese Air Force (PRTAF) generates new
challenges which, in this research work, are related to family building among men and
women in the service.
Therefore, concerns about female status have been identified, analyzing the way in
which their family situation influences performance and career options. A historical
evolution addressing the different changes in the Portuguese Society that allowed women
to join the organization is introduced. After this contextualization, this work addresses the
problems related to the characterization of women in uniform regarding family,
motherhood, and compatibility between family life and the military organization.
In this sense, relationships of authority, subordination, and discipline according to
the requirements aforementioned are analyzed.
For this purpose the research method in social sciences, proposed by the Instituto
Ensino Superior Militar, is used. This method begins with an initial question, with some
others associated, which derive from it, trying to reach an answer through the formulation
of hypothesis.
This research was based, mainly, on questionnaires answered by women who
perform duties in the POAF and are married to or live in civil union with servicemen. It
was complemented by a review of documents and studies already developed, and
interviews made.
This research work made possible the identification of situations which have to be
addressed with caution, such as not to station a member of a “military couple” directly
dependant on each other, in order to preserve the authority and subordination
relationships.
The most important conclusion drawn from this work is that there must be
regulations to establish the nature of the non-professional relationships among men and
women in the military.
