O presente trabalho tem como objectivo compreender os comportamentos desviantes praticados por elementos da Polícia de Segurança Pública. Neste sentido foram analisados todos os processos disciplinares que entre os anos de 2003 a 2010 culminaram com a aplicação de uma pena disciplinar expulsiva, de forma a caracterizar os elementos policiais punidos e os comportamentos cometidos. Este trabalho aborda ainda um conjunto de teorias explicativas destes comportamentos e as possíveis formas de controlo dos mesmos, terminando com um breve estudo exploratório sobre a influência de uma baixa percepção do suporte organizacional nos comportamentos dos elementos da PSP.
The present work has as objective understand the deviant behavior committed by members of the Polícia de Segurança Pública. Therefore, we analyzed all disciplinary cases that between the years 2003 to 2010 culminated in the imposition of a disciplinary penalty expulsive in order to characterize the police officers punished and behaviors committed. This work also discusses some of the theories explaining these behaviors and possible ways to control them, ending with a brief exploratory study on the influence of a low perception of organizational support in the behaviors of the elements of the PSP.
