| dc.description.abstract | Este trabalho de investigação tem como tema as “Inovações e Tendências na Artilharia de Campanha: requisitos do Sistema de Artilharia de Campanha português” e tem como objetivo identificar as tendências do mercado de defesa para as componentes das Armas e Munições e Aquisição de Objetivos, assim como os requisitos que se consideram adequados à realidade portuguesa. Para a elaboração da presente investigação foi adotado o método de abordagem dedutivo e método de investigação comparativo com uma análise quantitativa dos dados, tendo-se procedido à recolha de dados com base em análise documental com fonte em sites oficiais das empresas de defesa, sites e revistas especializadas em assuntos de defesa, entrevistas exploratórias e inquéritos. A análise das componentes das Armas e Munições e Aquisição de Objetivos exigiu um estudo abrangente dos produtos da indústria da defesa, seguido do tratamento de dados por forma a compreender a direção em que ruma o mercado de defesa relativamente a estas duas componentes. De seguida, foram realizados inquéritos para estabelecer a relação entre as lacunas sentidas pelos Oficiais de Artilharia nas componentes de Armas e Munições e Aquisição de Objetivos e os requisitos considerados relevantes para a realidade da Artilharia de Campanha portuguesa do futuro. Pode concluir-se que os meios orgânicos se encontram muito aquém daquilo que são as tendências de mercado. Ao nível das Armas, um potencial sistema de armas deverá ter como requisitos, comprimento de tubo igual ou superior a 52 calibres, calibre de 155mm bem como capacidade de ser operado por guarnições reduzidas, preferencialmente a partir do interior da cabine. As Munições, devem apresentar letalidade aumentada, usar projéteis e espoletas inteligentes tal como uso de sistemas de propulsão adicional ou pelo menos ter capacidade para tal. Por último a Aquisição de Objetivos de modo a melhor corresponder às necessidades da Artilharia de Campanha, deverá passar pela aquisição de Unmaned Aerial Vehicles que permitem cumprir a missão de Aquisição de Objetivos bem como contribuir para outras necessidades da Artilharia de Campanha. Concluiu-se também que todos estes sistemas devem responder ao requisito de interoperabilidade com os restantes meios do GAC, sendo esta das lacunas mais graves da Artilharia de Campanha portuguesa. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | This research work focuses on "Innovations and Trends in Field Artillery: Requirements of the Portuguese Field Artillery Systems" and aims to identify defense market trends for the components of Weapons and Ammunition, and Target Acquisition, as well as the requirements considered suitable for the Portuguese reality. For the elaboration of this investigation, the deductive approach method and the comparative research method were adopted, with a quantitative analysis of the data. Data collection was based upon documentary analysis from official websites of defense companies, specialized defense websites and magazines, exploratory interviews, and surveys. The analysis of the Weapons and Ammunition components and Target Acquisition required a comprehensive study of defense industry products, followed by data processing in order to understand the direction in which the defense market is heading regarding these two components. Subsequently, surveys were conducted to establish the relationship between the gaps identified by Artillery Officers in the Weapons and Ammunition components and Target Acquisition, and the requirements considered relevant for the future reality of the Portuguese Field Artillery. It can be concluded that organic resources are far short of market trends. Regarding Weapons, a potential weapon system should have requirements such as a tube length of 52 or more calibers, a caliber of 155mm, and the ability to be operated by reduced crews, preferably from inside the cabin. Ammunition should have increased lethality, use intelligent projectiles and fuzes, as well as have the capability for additional propulsion systems. Lastly, to better meet the needs of Field Artillery, Target Acquisition should involve the acquisition of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) that enable the fulfillment of Target Acquisition missions and contribute to other Field Artillery needs. It was also concluded that all these systems must meet the interoperability requirement with the other components of the Field Artillery Battalion, as this is one of the most serious gaps in Portuguese Field Artillery. | pt_PT |
