O empreendedorismo desde sempre despertou grande fascínio por parte do estudo
científico de uma forma irrefutável, designado como a experiência de conceber, modificar,
criar emprego e como resultado produzir crescimento económico. Desde o ínicio da
humanidade os géneros (feminino e masculino) evidenciaram muitas diferenças, para além
das diferenças físicas naturais. Actualmente deparamo-nos com um aumento significativo de
homens e mulheres empreendedores que arriscam no sentido de encontrar um rumo à sua
vida, criando o seu negócio de acordo com as suas possibilidades. Neste sentido elevam-se as
principais diferenças entre géneros no empreendedorismo desde logo nas suas motivações, na
forma como definem a sua estratégia de negócio, nos recursos que possuem, no seu
conhecimento do mercado.
No âmbito desta investigação, pretende-se investigar as diferenças entre os géneros
masculino e feminino no empreendedorismo. Sabendo que cada género referido possui
características e atitudes díspares, fruto do contexto empresarial, social e cultural em que se
inserem, torna-se assim importante realçar as diferenças mais evidentes no universo do
empreendedorismo.
A metodologia adoptada na investigação caracteriza-se por ser qualitativa exploratória
e foi concebida com recurso a entrevistas individuais dirigidas a empreendedores do género
masculino e feminino, isoladamente.
Como resultados obtidos, pode-se concluir que ambos os géneros possuem diferenças
no processo empreendedor, nomeadamente nas fases de identificação e avaliação de
oportunidades de negócio, na determinação e captação de recursos necessários e na gestão das
empresas criadas.
Entrepreneurship has always raised fascination from the cientific study in an irrefutable form, designated as the experience of conceiving, modifying, creating jobs and having as an outcome promoting the economic growth. Since the beginning of mankind the genders (male and female) have showed many differences, beyond the natural physical differences. Nowadays, we are facing a significant increase of man and women entrepreneurs that risk in order to find a path to their lives, creating businesses accordingly with their possibilities. In this perspective, the main diferences between genders in entrepreneurship are raised: firstly in their own motivations,and in the way they define thir business strategies, the resources available and in their market knowledge. In this investigation, it is intended to research the diferences between male and female genders in entrepreneurship. Knowing that each gender possesses diffent characteristics and atitudes, due to their business, social and cultural contexto, i tis important to highlight the more evidente diferences in the entrepreneuship universe. The choosen methodology in this investigation is characterized for being exploratory qualitative and was designed using interview aimed to male and female genders entrepreneurs, in an isolated way. As results, it can be cncluded that both genders possess diferences in their entrepreneur process, namely in the stages of identification and evaluation of business opportunities, in determination and usage of the necessary resources and also in the manegement of the companies created.
