Toda a investigação se alicerça no método dedutivo, privilegiando uma abordagem qualitativa, recorrendo quer à análise documental, quer à realização de entrevistas, permitindo, através de um raciocínio do geral para o particular, a chegada às conclusões. A investigação elaborada aborda inicialmente o fenómeno da globalização e o seu impacto na sociedade. De seguida versa sobre a criminalidade organizada e sua expressão, dando especial relevância às novas caraterísticas da mesma. Posteriormente é discorrido o combate à criminalidade organizada contra a propriedade, dando realce ao papel da Guarda Nacional Republicana no caso do furto em interior de residência, em Portugal. Após isso desenvolve-se a metodologia e os procedimentos a que se recorreu na investigação, seguido ao qual surge a apresentação, análise e discussão dos resultados obtidos. Por último, são referidas as conclusões alcançadas e recomendações para futuras investigações. Concluída a investigação, foi possível observar que o combate a este fenómeno, por parte da GNR, é realizado no sentido de garantir o sentimento de segurança dos cidadãos, pelo que são realizadas atividades no âmbito da investigação criminal, de forma a chegar à identidade dos autores dos furtos e, da prevenção, de modo a sensibilizar a população para os cuidados a ter e também a orientar o policiamento através das informações recolhidas no terreno. Este combate assenta numa estreita cooperação nacional e internacional, através da troca de informações e da participação em iniciativas internacionais. Ao fim ao cabo, a investigação demonstra como a GNR debela este tipo de criminalidade organizada, cuja investigação é tão complexa devido à itinerância e transnacionalidade dos grupos criminosos.The work of Applied Research, under the theme "Organized crime against property in a globalized society: the fight by the GNR", aims to understand how the National Republican Guard fights crime in today's globalized society organized against the property, in the perspective of the theft in interior of residence. All the research is based on the deductive method, favouring a qualitative approach, resorting either to documentary analysis or to interviews, allowing, through a reasoning from the general to the particular, the arrival to the conclusions. The elaborated research initially addresses the phenomenon of globalization in society and its impact on society. It then deals with organized crime and its expression, giving special relevance to its new characteristics. Subsequently the fight against organized crime against property is discussed, highlighting the role of the National Republican Guard in the case of theft in the interior of residence in Portugal. After that, the methodology and procedures used in the research are developed, followed by the presentation, analysis and discussion of the results obtained. Finally, the conclusions reached and recommendations for future investigations are mentioned. After the investigation, it was possible to observe that the fight against this phenomenon, by the GNR, is carried out in order to guarantee the citizens' sense of security, so that criminal investigation activities are carried out in order to reach the identity of the perpetrators of thefts and of the prevention, in order to sensitize the population for the care to be had and also to guide the policing through the information collected in the field. This fight is based on close national and international cooperation through the exchange of information and participation in international initiatives.
