Este trabalho descreve, analisa e reflete o trajeto realizado nas unidades curriculares de estágio com projeto e estágio com relatório, com vista a desenvolver conhecimentos teóricos e práticos na área dos CP, desenvolvendo competências definidas pela OE para o título de EEEMCPSP e de competências de mestre. O presente trabalho aborda o tema da promoção do conforto da PSP nos UDHV e família, à luz da teoria do conforto de Katharine Kolcaba. Conforto é um termo que tem uma associação histórica e contemporânea significativa, desde Nightingale, é considerado como um resultado desejável dos cuidados de enfermagem. A elaboração deste trabalho demonstra o processo de desenvolvimento da aquisição de competências. A minha intervenção passou principalmente pela reflexão e análise da promoção do conforto da PSP nos UDHV e família, em dois contextos de estágio (EIHSCP e UICP). Tendo por base a metodologia de projeto, surgiu a questão: “Como promover o conforto à PSP nos UDHV e família?” Este trabalho, apresenta como finalidade, contribuir para a melhoria da qualidade dos cuidados de enfermagem prestados no âmbito da promoção do conforto da PSP nos UDHV e família. Com o objetivo de prestar cuidados de qualidade, este projeto possibilitou-me aprofundar conhecimentos e desenvolver competências na promoção do conforto para a PSP nos UDHV. Além disso, foi possível sintetizar, sob forma de tabela, os sinais e sintomas mais comummente reportados na literatura e observados em contexto de estágio, bem como sobre as necessidades de conforto da PSP e ainda sobre as intervenções de enfermagem promotoras de conforto.This report is part of the third semester curricular unit "Internship with Report" of the 1st Master's Degree in Medical-Surgical Nursing, specialising in Palliative Care Nursing, at the Higher School of Nursing of Lisbon. This study describes, analyses, and reflects on the journey undertaken in the curricular units "Internship with Project" and "Internship with Report," aiming to develop theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of Palliative Care, and to develop the competencies defined by the Order of Nurses for the title of Specialist Nurse in Medical-Surgical Nursing with Palliative Care Specialisation and master’s competencies. The present report focuses on the theme of promoting comfort for patients in palliative care and their families, within the context of end-of-life care, in light of Katharine Kolcaba's Theory of Comfort. Comfort is a term with both historical and contemporary significance, and since Nightingale, it has been considered a desirable outcome of nursing care. The development of this research demonstrates the process of acquiring competencies. My intervention primarily involved reflecting on and analysing the promotion of comfort for patients in palliative care during the last days and hours of life, and their families, in two clinical settings (Intra-Hospital Palliative Care Support Team and Palliative Care Inpatient Unit). Based on project methodology, the question arose: "How can comfort be promoted for patients in palliative care during the last days and hours of life, and their families?". The purpose of this research is to contribute to improving the quality of nursing care in promoting comfort for patients in palliative care during the last days and hours of life, and their families. With the goal of providing high-quality care, this project allowed me to deepen my knowledge and develop skills in promoting comfort for person in palliative care during the last days and hours of life.
