Frequentemente, é necessário o emprego de meios militares para exercer a soberania, num espaço caracterizado pela indefinição de fronteiras. Para neutralizar as ameaças no Ciberespaço, a União Europeia (UE) criou mecanismos de proteção, para garantir segurança e livre uso do Ciberespaço, levando à crescente exploração militar do Ciberespaço, transformando o ambiente estratégico internacional. É nesta envolvente, que o objeto de estudo desta investigação se consubstancia na Ciberdefesa das Operações/Missões militares da UE. Como tal, efetuou-se um estudo de caso, com um horizonte temporal transversal, recorrendo a um raciocínio dedutivo, numa estratégia qualitativa. Os principais resultados, sugerem a falta de empenhamento político, da partilha de Informação dos Estados-Membros, doutrina, recursos humanos e meios especializados. Além disso, faltam infraestruturas dedicadas à formação e treino de Ciberdefesa. Estas lacunas, contribuem para a falta de capacidade da UE em garantir uma resposta coordenada credível e eficaz aos incidentes no Ciberespaço. Como tal, a UE deve empenhar-se na alocação de recursos e meios, que desenvolvam doutrina e infraestruturas para formação e treino de Ciberdefesa, aumentando assim a capacidade de resiliência e dissuasão, na resposta coordenada no Ciberespaço durante as suas Operações/Missões.Nowadays, Cyberspace constitute a challenge to the security of States and Organizations. Frequently, the use of military assets is necessary to exercise sovereignty in a space characterized by the undefinition of borders. To neutralize Cyberthreats, the European Union (EU) has created protection mechanisms to guarantee the security and free use of cyberspace, increasing the military exploitation of Cyberspace, changing the international strategic environment deeply. It´s in this environment that the study object of this investigation lies on the Cyber Defence of EU´s military Operations/Missions. A case study, with a transversal time horizon, were used to conduct the investigation. It was also used deductive rationality, and a qualitative strategy. The main results suggests that there is lack of commitment from the Member States, human resources, and specialized assets. In addition, it was identified a lack of dedicated infrastructure´s to Cyber Defence education and training. These lacks are reflecting in EU's incapacity to guarantee a reliable, effective, and coordinated response to Cyberspace´s incidents.
