O que nos leva a um dos novos temas na tecnologia atual, a nanotecnologia. Por muitas décadas, a nanotecnologia tem sido alvo do desenvolvido de investigadores de diversas áreas como a física, química, biologia, ciência dos materiais, engenharia e ciência da computação; as quais, em colaboração, tentam trazer o futuro da nanotecnologia até nós. Mas somente hoje, a nanotecnologia começa a abrir as suas portas, para todo uma nova serie possibilidades e desafios. Esta dissertação pretende explorar o desenvolvimento da nanotecnologia, de uma forma genérica, feito até ao momento e espreitar o futuro da nanotecnologia, tendo em conta o impacto que a mesma possa vir a ter tanto no meio social como no tecnológico. O principal objetivo foi portanto, identificar as necessidades e oportunidades que possam vir a ser geradas através da pesquisa na ciência da computação (na nanotecnologia), sendo que este trabalho se destina, também, a beneficiar interessados em contribuir para o campo da nanotecnologia ou a simples divulgação da mesma, no meio social e académico. Espera-se, assim, que esta dissertação possa levar à realização desta visão.Abstract Technology, as science and "instrument", has been following and serving Men since very early and currently represents one of the undoubted pillars for development and evolution. This brings us to one of the new themes in current technology, the nanotechnology. For many decades, nanotechnology has been developed from diverse fields, such as physics, chemistry, biology, materials science, engineering and computer science, to which, together, they try to bring the future of nanotechnology to us. But only now, nanotechnology is opening its doors to a whole new range possibilities and challenges. This thesis aims to explore the development of nanotechnology, in a generic way, made so far and peek at the future of nanotechnology, given the impact it might have on both the social and technological. The main objective was therefore, to identify the needs and opportunities that may be generated through research in computer science (nanotechnology), meaning that this work is also intended to benefit interested in contributing to the field of nanotechnology or simple dissemination, in the social and academic.
