Para otimizar recursos e melhorar a condição dos pavimentos aeronáuticos a ANA – Aeroportos, SA e a United States Air Force utilizam um Sistema de Gestão de Pavimentos Aeronáuticos (SGPA). Assim, avaliou-se a sua aplicação na FA (estudo de caso), mediante um raciocínio hipotético-dedutivo, testado em 12 entrevistas semiestruturadas definidas através do mapa conceptual. Estas entrevistas permitiram verificar que: os benefícios do SGPA contribuem para os objetivos da FA; a arquitetura do SGPA deve assentar em três componentes (base de dados, avaliação e apoio à decisão); a integração do SGPA pode ser efetuada na Direção de Infraestruturas. Assim, concluiu-se que o SGPA pode ser implementado na FA, permitindo otimizar recursos e melhorar o estado de conservação dos pavimentos. Abstract: The Portuguese Air Force (PoAF) airport infrastructure facility is essential to the air power, however, there isn’t an integrated knowledge of airfield pavement condition and, therefore, most of the interventions are ad-hoc. In order to optimize resources and to improve the aeronautical pavements conditions ANA – Aeroportos, SA and the United States Air Force use an Airfield Pavement Management System (APMS). So, it was considered its application in the PoAF (case study), through a hypothetical-deductive reasoning tested through the application of 12 semi-structured interviews developed from the conceptual map. It was found that the benefits of APMS contribute to the Air Force goals, that the system architecture should be based on three components (database, evaluation and decision support) and that the APMS can be integrated in the Infrastructure Directorate.
