O estudo aborda como a cooperação do Exército em resposta a acidentes graves, catástrofes naturais ou tecnológicas, e na assistência às autoridades de Proteção Civil pode influenciar os ciclos de treinos operacionais dessas unidades. O objetivo desta investigação é analisar o impacto das missões de Apoio Militar de Emergência em resposta a situações imprevistas, nas unidades operacionais de Artilharia, explorando se os pedidos de apoio afetam estas unidades e os seus militares. A metodologia empregada é qualitativa, com um estudo de caso que tenta alcançar um entendimento aprofundado do objeto de estudo. O Exército tem uma capacidade significativa de atuação em resposta a incêndios florestais, refletida na formação específica e na mobilização rápida de recursos humanos e materiais, além da colaboração eficaz com a Autoridade Nacional de Emergência e Proteção Civil. As missões de Apoio Militar de Emergência não planeadas afetam negativamente o treino operacional das unidades de artilharia, interrompendo a continuidade dos treinos e limitando a capacidade de realizar treinos coletivos. Ajustes no calendário de atividades operacionais são feitos para minimizar os impactos, porém não são sempre suficientes para evitar efeitos negativos em casos de emergências inesperadas. As principais conclusões indicam que, embora o Apoio Militar de Emergência seja essencial para a resposta a emergências, ele impõe desafios significativos ao treino operacional das unidades de Artilharia, requerendo um equilíbrio cuidadoso entre as missões de apoio civil e a preparação militar.This Applied Research Paper examines the impact of Emergency Military Support on the operational units of the Artillery branch. The study explores how the Army's cooperation in response to severe accidents, natural or technological disasters, and in assisting Civil Protection authorities can influence the operational training cycles of these units. The objective of this research is to analyze the impact of Emergency Military Support missions in response to unforeseen situations on the operational units of Artillery, examining whether support requests affect these units and their personnel. The employed methodology is qualitative, featuring a case study aimed at achieving a deep understanding of the subject matter. The Army has significant capacity to respond to forest fires, demonstrated by specific training and the rapid mobilization of human and material resources, as well as effective collaboration with the National Civil Protection Emergency Authority. Unplanned Emergency Military Support missions negatively impact the operational training of artillery units, disrupting the continuity of training and limiting the ability to conduct collective exercises. Adjustments to the operational activities schedule are made to minimize impacts, but they are not always sufficient to avoid negative effects in cases of unexpected large-scale emergencies.
