Los participantes son 583 estudiantes y egresados (n=583), del Instituto Politécnico de Coimbra (Portugal), empleando como instrumento el Cuestionario sobre la Práctica Orientadora y tutorial en el alumnado y egresados universitarios construido ad hoc, el cual valora la orientación académica, personal y profesional, y el uso de las tecnologías en orientación. Se realiza un estudio descriptivo y otro de relación, para establecer la existencia de diferencias significativas (p<.05) entre las variables sociodemográficas consideradas género (hombre vs. mujer), nivel académico (alumnado de segundo curso, alumnado de tercer curso y alumnado de máster) y los factores del instrumento. Para finalizar, se presenta una discusión de los resultados y las conclusiones del estudio. Key words: educational guidance, higher education, tutorial, new technologies ,vocational guidance.This study presents the results of data obtained from the needs analysis questionnaire completed by students from the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra (Portugal), in the first phase of the Research project “TIMONEL: Recommendation System (RS). A project analysing the guidance and mentoring needs of European undergraduate and graduate students. This project was granted by the Ministry of Culture, Education and Sports of the Government of Spain (Code EDU2016-75892-P). 4 universities from 3 European countries participate in it: University of Jaen and University of Granada (Spain), Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra(Portugal) and Queen Mary University of London (United Kingdom). The subjects are 583 undergraduates and graduates (n= 583), of the Institute Polytechnic of Coimbra (Portugal). The questionnaire was built for the project and it assesses the Guiding and Tutorial practices of university undergraduates and graduates on three levels: academic, personal and professional and also the use of technology in guidance. Analysis are carried out to establish the existence of significant differences (p<.05) between the sociodemographic variables considered: gender (man vs. woman), academic level (second-year students, third-year students and students of master’s degree) and the instrument itself.
