Afetam também a área da defesa, com impacto crescente nas operações militares, face à sua evolução, multiplicação e capacidade de alterar as normas e a forma de fazer a guerra. Considera-se relevante, nesta investigação, estudar a influência destas tecnologias no exercício do comando em operações militares, tendo como objetivo propor a sua otimização neste quadro. Desenvolve-se assim, aplicando metodologia científica, um estudo de caso sobre os militares das Forças Armadas Portuguesas com funções de exercício do comando, utilizando estratégias qualitativas, com entrevistas a responsáveis e especialistas, nas dimensões do planeamento e condução de operações militares e adotando uma estratégia quantitativa, aplicando um inquérito online sobre a população, na dimensão liderança. A investigação atingiu diversos resultados, salientando-se os desafios ao planeamento e condução de operações militares, bem como os atributos e competências necessários aos comandantes, com interesse para além deste estudo. Como principal conclusão, apresenta considerações e medidas como contributo para otimizar a ação de comando no quadro das operações militares com introdução de tecnologias disruptivas, no âmbito do enquadramento estratégico e estratégico-militar, assim como nas áreas da formação, execução e interoperabilidade.Disruptive technologies have emerged in all areas of life, many transversally. They also affect the area of defense, with increasing impact on military operations, due to its evolution, multiplication and ability to change the rules and the way war is made. It is considered relevant, in this research, to study the influence of these technologies in the exercise of command in military operations, aiming for its optimization. Thus, this investigation, using scientific methodology, develops a case study on the Portuguese Armed Forces military with functions of command, using qualitative strategies, with interviews with relevant responsible leaders and specialists, in the dimensions of planning and conduct of operations, and a quantitative strategy, applying an online survey on the population, in the leadership dimension. The research has achieved several results, highlighting the challenges to the planning and conduct of military operations, as well as the attributes and competencies necessary for commanders, with interest beyond this study.
