A nova Força de Reacção Rápida é essencial para esta transformação do Exército. Este documento examina o papel da FRR e a forma como esta preenche o leque de capacidades das forças existentes. Começa por enquadrar os actuais tipos de conflito existentes no Mundo, as alianças em que Portugal se insere e as ameaças que enfrenta ao tentar contribuir para uma estabilidade generalizada. Após algumas considerações sobre o tipo destas forças e a sua estrutura habitual, ao analisar a questão central, este documento apresenta um conceito operacional que está fundamentalmente articulado e desenvolvido com base na força tipo, sem deixar de se interrelacionar com as possíveis missões e com o ambiente operacional. Abstract: The Army of tomorrow must be more deployable and capable of meeting future threats across the full spectrum of war. Essential to this transformation is the Army’s new Rapid Reaction Force (RRF). This document examines the RRFs role and how it bridges the existing capabilities gap of its forces. It starts with the framing of the present types of conflicts in the world, the alliances regarding Portugal and the threats it faces when trying to contribute for the overall stability.
